  • What is a Revocable Trust?
A Revocable Trust is a legal written document under the terms of which the Trust holds assets for its owner/creator, and the owner maintains control of the Trust and its assets during his or her life.
  • What is probate?
Probate is the Court administered legal process of “proving” a Will after the death of its drafter and overseeing that the Decedent's debts and expenses are paid, and remaining assets distributed according to the terms of the Will.
  • Does a Revocable Trust Avoid Probate?
A Revocable Trust adds efficiency to the administration of real estate and other assets at the time of death, without the need for Probate or court administration because the Trust owns the assets, not the individual.
  • Can a Revocable Trust Own Out-of-State Real Property?
An important aspect of a Revocable Trust is the ownership of out-of-state real property, which can avoid the need and cost for estate administration or probate in the state where the real property is situated.
  • What is a Durable General Power of Attorney?
A Durable General Power of Attorney is a legal document that appoints an individual to have the legal authority to manage the legal and financial affairs of the person who executes the Durable General Power of Attorney.
  • What is a Durable Medical Power of Attorney?

  • What is a Living Will?
A Living Will is a legal document that directs what life sustaining health care should be withheld when a person is at the end-stage of a medical condition or illness, or in a state of permanent unconsciousness with no realistic hope of recovery.
  • What is estate planning?
Estate Planning is the process of discussions and legal advice, and the writing and execution of a Will or Trust that specifies how an individual’s real estate and other property and assets are distributed after death.
  • What is Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax?
Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax is a tax paid to the PA Department of Revenue based upon assets owned at death, and at different tax rates ranging from zero percent (0%) for transfers at death between spouses and to children aged 21 years and younger, twelve percent (12%) for transfers to siblings, and fifteen percent (15%) for transfers to individuals other than spouses, children, grandchildren, or siblings.
