Ann West is a lifetime resident of Western Pennsylvania. She obtained her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she was awarded the Esther R. Teplitz Award for outstanding academic achievement in Health Law.

Prior to attending law school at the University of Pittsburgh, Ann received her Master of Divinity Degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from The College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio.

Ann West was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1988. After graduation from law school, Ann West’s work in the legal profession included positions as Law Clerk for the Honorable Paul R. Zavarella, then President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and as Law Clerk for the Honorable Peter O. Steege of the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County, Pennsylvania. As a Law Clerk, Ann had invaluable experience from the perspective of the judicial system and the Court and was the beneficiary of mentoring by two highly respected members of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania judiciary.

Ann’s experiences prior to Law School provided important foundations for her law practice. While a graduate student, she was a counselor at the Princeton Senior Resource Center in Princeton, New Jersey where her counseling included guidance regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and other public assistance eligibility and access issues. Ann also served as an Intern and lobbyist for Common Cause in Washington, D.C. where she acted as the liaison between the National Office and the Pennsylvania State Office and her responsibilities included building telephone networks, work on a reapportionment bill, and grassroots lobbying.
Ann Zuberbuhler West's Areas of Practice:
Real Estate: Ann’s legal work in the area of Real Estate Law includes the representation of owners and purchasers of residential and commercial properties in the negotiation and drafting of Sale and Purchase Agreements and Deeds, and Landlords and Tenants in the negotiation and drafting of Leases. She has extensive experience in legal matters related to the renovation and construction of single and multi-unit residential properties. She also represents property owners in zoning and boundary issues.

Estate Planning and Administration: Ann Zuberbuhler West’s listening and communication skills, and her sensitivity to the unique situations of each of her clients best suit her in the area of Estate Planning. She is especially attentive to the legal needs of the firm’s elderly clients. Ann’s Estate Planning services include the drafting of Wills, Wills with Tax Shelter Trusts, Wills with Trusts for surviving spouses and children, Living Trusts, and the drafting of Financial and Medical Powers of Attorney and Living Wills. She works closely with clients and their accountants and financial advisors to tailor Estate Plans to the personal needs of her clients.

Divorce and Family Law: Since 1993, Ann West and West & Zuberbuhler, P.C. have provided thorough, effective, and, when needed, aggressive representation to clients facing separation, divorce, and child custody issues. The firm has more than 40 years of combined legal experience. Ann West is a 1988 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctor Degree. At graduation, she was the recipient of the Esther R. Teplitz Award for outstanding academic achievement in the area of Health Law. Prior to obtaining her law degree from Pitt, Ann obtained a Master of Divinity Degree at Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from The College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio. She is a graduate of Blackhawk High School, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.
Ann is married and she and her husband Jay West have three children. She is active in the Presbyterian Church, where she has served as a Deacon and Trustee. Her interests include reading, gardening, and cooking.
